51st Edition of the Deauville American Film Festival

Hopscotch Proprietary Event

Launched in 1975 at the initiative of Lionel Chouchan and André Halimi, under the impetus of Michel d’Ornano, then Mayor of the City of Deauville, and Lucien Barrière, the Deauville American Film Festival has become an essential event marking the start of the season.

The City of Deauville delegates the co-organization of the Festival (artistic direction) to Hopscotch Cinéma and the Deauville International Center (organization).

The American Film Festival is the only festival in France entirely dedicated to American cinema, attracting around 60,000 spectators each year.

This historic festival celebrates the great legends of American cinema as much as it reveals new faces. Each year, it offers a snapshot of the full diversity of cinema through its competition, major premieres, gala evenings, and retrospectives, with the confidence of many partners.
