Launched in Avoriaz in 1973 under the initiative of Lionel Chouchan to promote the region, the International Fantastic Film Festival moved to Gérardmer in 1993, gaining new momentum to become the genre’s convention.

It attracts a young (25-35 years old), enthusiastic, and loyal audience from all over France and Europe, establishing itself as the must-attend fantastic event in Europe.

Six days of terror and activities

For six days, the festival offers a full immersion into the world of fantasy with a rich program of immersive screenings and special events. The atmosphere is unique, enhanced by the presence of numerous prestigious guests who share their passion with the audience.
During its 33rd edition, the festival brought together 40,000 spectators, confirming its status as a major and unmissable event of the genre in Europe.
